I’m curious because, in one of the videos yesterday, you said that one of the colors (the blue) was 20 years old or something. I love this stuff, so bring it on, David!
Hi Neela, those were my original pastels when I first tried painting 20 years ago, I only did a dozen paintings and then gave up but kept the pastels for all those years.
For a bonus fun fact the caves in Lascaux France were discovered by a Robot in 1940 - actually Robot was the name of the dog that went down a hole which led to the caves - and as a person who enjoys the origin of words I’m sure you know what Robot means Karen 🤗☕
🤗 it was supposed to be a subtle reference to marketing copy not copy but I think a starter set of 12 pastels is always good... Actually aren't you on a tropical holiday?
hmmmm… I had no idea pastels had such a rich (and sticky) history!
From a tech perspective, Innovation often starts with imitation and then takes a wild leap forward.
Love the journey through history and creativity David.
Thanks Neela, I will be using honey to make my pastels hold together, more on that later. 🤗☕

OMG 20 years eh?
I would love to see one of those older paintings :)
I'll take a photo of one
I look forward to it David. Happy weekend 🎉
What a fascinating history - I had no idea! It’s so much fun to learn something new!

Robot the dog! 💛💛💛
I love the copy and paste - particularly the insight into the ‘copy’ function. The video of the Roche pastel making is fascinating.
Glad you enjoyed the video, I loved the passion they had for their craft
This is absolutely fascinating. Thank you for sharing.
That's charming, thanks Chason 🤗☕
Homo Imitan reporting for duty 🫡 how many pastel colors do you have?

If you were to paint my weekend you would use up your green, yellow and blue pastels 🌊
I enjoyed getting to learn more about pastels, history, and how you have continued to create art (not just imitate) with them. Thanks!
Thanks Hans - may you find taking a breath an absolute joy this week 🤗❤️
